Leleka i Paporot

Leleka i Paporot (Stork and Fern) is a Ternopil-based band that leans into a psychedelic sound, masterfully blending genres like synth-pop, dream-pop, indie, and funk. In July 2024, the band released their debut EP, Realnist Nediysna ("Reality is Invalid"), which earned a nomination for Mini-Album of the Year at the MEGOGO Music Awards. Their latest single, Prekrasnyi Svit ("Beautiful World"), was created thanks to the "Na Yiyi Osnovi" ("On Her Foundation") grant program. The music of Leleka i Paporot is a kind of sonic daydream, where our hidden inner self escapes the confines of body and mind to inhabit a world of mystical spirits, optical phenomena, raw emotions, flights of fancy, light, and nature. The band fully formed in 2023 after teaming up with Roman Bozhko (founder of Echo Gardens, co-founder of Tik Tu), who handles sound production and plays drums for the project. The lineup also features Andrii Matsuk (bass, flute), Sofiia Matsuk (vocals, lyrics, synthesizer), and Oleksandr Smoliak (guitar). The band's name is a combination of the creative alter-egos of the guitarist (Leleka / Stork) and the vocalist (Paporot / Fern).
