DREVO
On May 23, 2025, Ukrainian singer DREVO released his new single, "Smarahdove Nebo" (Emerald Sky), which became a genuine phenomenon in Ukraine's musical landscape within days. Immediately following its release, "Smarahdove Nebo" climbed to the top of the charts on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, YouTube, and Shazam, demonstrating impressive streaming numbers. Remarkably, it has maintained its number-one position across all charts for three consecutive months. The song also went viral on TikTok, where over a hundred thousand videos were created using the original audio. DREVO, whose real name is Maksym Derevianchuk, hails from the city of Varash in the Rivne region. Despite having no formal professional musical education, he gained widespread popularity through his deeply emotional compositions. In 2024, DREVO became a finalist in the National Selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, placing ninth with his song "Endless Chain." Prior to the success of "Smarahdove Nebo," DREVO had already built a significant following with a series of powerful tracks: "Samolitom" — one of the artist's most famous songs, which brought him his first major wave of recognition. "Lastivka" — a soulful and atmospheric composition that captivated listeners with its poetic lyrics. "De By De By" — an energetic track that became a streaming hit, solidifying DREVO's style as a creator of modern yet deeply Ukrainian music. One of the most resonant milestones in DREVO's career was his collaboration with the world heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk on the song "Terpy, Kozak" (Endure, Cossack). Based on a poem written by Usyk in 2023, the track embodies strength of spirit, resilience, and national character. "Smarahdove Nebo" has evolved into a cultural landmark, uniting listeners of all ages and musical tastes. DREVO's success is a testament to the growing global interest in contemporary Ukrainian music and the talented artists who shape it.
